DA2 is a rebuild rather than a new build: a Streacom DA2 V1 – 13 litres of black aluminium – came in as a used system, was stripped down completely, cleaned and put back together with new key components. The goal was a compact machine that handles high-end gaming, 4K streaming and content creation without looking like a gaming PC.
At its heart sits an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X with 16 cores, cooled by an NZXT Kraken X63 280 mm AIO with Thermal Grizzly PhaseSheet as the interface – a phase-change material that suits continuous operation better than paste. The Gigabyte X570 I AORUS Pro WiFi carries 64 GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 and two NVMe drives (Samsung 970 EVO Plus and Kingston A2000, 1 TB each). Power comes from a fully modular Corsair SF600 Platinum.
The graphics card was chosen deliberately: an Intel Arc B580 with 12 GB GDDR6. Its AV1/HEVC/H.264 hardware encoding makes it a strong pick for streaming and editing, and it keeps the thermal budget of the small case in check.
The case itself got the MAROIS treatment: 3D-printed alternative side panels with integrated dust filters improve airflow through the DA2 – the original parts stay with the system, so the owner can switch back at any time.

Interchangeable front tiles (custom logos & patterns) · removable hardware tray · Flex-ATX · 2× 92 mm fans · LP GPU up to 200 mm · CPU up to 75 mm · carbon PETG · variants: red/orange/navy/black · Ryzen 9 9950X + RTX A2000 ADA tested · whisper-quiet, no throttling
M3DLP is not a single case — it's a system. Inspired by NFC (Not From Concentrate), one of the pioneers of compact PC design, but rethought from the ground up: better thermals, stronger structure, and a feature that didn't exist before. The front panel is a grid of small, swappable tiles. Each tile is an individual 3D-printed element — honeycomb, wave, grid, or a custom logo. Reddit, Nvidia, AMD Ryzen, BMW, cat — anything goes. The pattern can be rearranged at any time or replaced with entirely new designs. The case evolves with its owner. Inside sits a fully removable hardware tray: motherboard, cooler, GPU, power supply — all in one unit that slides out without tools. Two 92mm fans supply fresh air throughout. The case was thermally tested with an RTX A2000 ADA and a Ryzen 9 9950X — whisper-quiet, zero throttling. Multiple variants have been built and tested: red with wave front grille, orange/copper with MAROIS branding tiles, navy with community logo tiles, black with Art Deco grille insert. Each version teaches something new. M3DLP is not finished yet.

Own design CLICK modular open frame · magnetic (6×2 mm / 6×3 mm magnets) · tool-free · PETG · Mini-ITX · SFX · GPU up to 320 mm · CPU cooler up to 90 mm (2-slot) · GPU bracket adjustable ±20 mm · V1 tower + V2 cube/horizontal · 12 mm power button · CAD files via Printables
CLICK started with a question: what if a PC case wasn't a case at all — just a frame? Open, modular, and defined by one characteristic feature: the frame sections connect magnetically. One click — and the joint is locked. No tools. No screws at the connection points. Just precision. The system is built from PETG printed rails and corner connectors that assemble into a fully open exoskeleton. Every component is visible, accessible, and swappable without disassembly. The central GPU bracket is adjustable by ±20 mm for maximum flexibility across different cards. V1 was a compact tower in grey; V2 explored two orientations — upright cube and horizontal platform. Technically, CLICK supports Mini-ITX motherboards, SFX power supplies, GPUs up to 320 mm in length (with side bracket), and CPU coolers up to 90 mm — larger coolers simply extend beyond the frame. The system is designed equally for enthusiasts, makers, and hardware showcases. CAD files are available on Printables. CLICK isn't a finished product — it's a system. And the thinking isn't done yet.

Own transparent tower design · modular: height, fan count and mounting variable · PETG-carbon black · acrylic clear or tinted · 2× 200 mm fan slot · Mini-ITX · SFX PSU · GPU up to 325 mm / 2.5 slots · CPU cooler up to 105 mm · USB-C + USB-A front I/O · full-load tested without throttling · 210×210×440 mm
The idea was as simple as it was radical: a fully transparent PC where every component is visible — and everything still works, cools efficiently, and runs quietly. No trade-off between aesthetics and function. Both, fully. The result is GLAS: a tower chassis built from black PETG-carbon with fully transparent side panels — available in clear or tinted acrylic. A 200mm fan slot at the top keeps temperatures stable even under full load with overclocked CPU and GPU, with zero throttling recorded during testing. GLAS is not a single case but a whole series: the design is fully modular. Height can be varied in segments, as can the number of fans and the way components are mounted – flat, upright, with or without riser. Several variants were drawn, from a flat cube to a tall tower; they deliberately all live under one project. The case was built as a functional prototype and tested under real-world conditions. Minor surface marks from printing may be present — function is unaffected. Optional 200mm fans, PCIe riser cables, angled adapters, and tinted acrylic allow for a fully personalised setup. GLAS is no longer a concept. It's a statement.

BLOCK is built around the XIKII INDUSTRY FF08 — a case that fascinated Mario from the very first moment. At over $400 it's not cheap, but worth every cent. CNC-milled from solid aluminium, ultra-compact, and designed so that not a single screw is visible from the outside. The result is a sleek, monolithic aesthetic — a genuine piece of design art. When the massive wooden shipping crate arrived, assembly started immediately — no manual included, but as a trained mechanic Mario enjoyed figuring it out. Everything fitted with millimetre precision: the GPU clearance to the side panel was less than a millimetre. The biggest challenge was the power supply. Finding a silent, modular unit in Flex-ATX format wasn't straightforward. After initial attempts with a longer PSU and a Noctua 40mm fan swap, heat became an issue. The answer came — as so often — from CAD and the 3D printer: a custom airflow deflector redirects hot air away from the CPU intake, and a bespoke SSD tray with an integrated 70mm fan exhausts heat from the top of the case. With a little undervolting, the system now runs cool, quiet, and powerful. A 16 GB GPU inside this tiny premium chassis makes BLOCK an absolute statement piece — for anyone who refuses to compromise.

Own wooden case design · solid oak + zebrano option · acrylic sides (clear or honeycomb mesh) · PETG+carbon 3D-printed internals · Bambu H2D · Ryzen 7 9700X · Intel Arc B580 LE 12GB · Alpenföhn Panorama 2 (47 mm!) · Seasonic SGX-750 · CAD files & kit on request
WOOD started with a single question: what does a PC look like when it's truly built from wood? Not wood-effect film, not small accent panels — but a structural oak frame as the core of the design, paired with acrylic side panels and a large-format honeycomb mesh printed in PETG. The case is a complete original design. Two wood species were chosen for the side panels: light, calm oak and dramatically striped Zebrano — each transforming the build's character entirely. The rear wall and internal structure were 3D-printed, and the honeycomb mesh was so large that a Bambu H2D was purchased specifically for this project — to print it in a single piece, without visible seams. Inside, a Ryzen 9 9700X pairs with an Intel Arc B580 with 12 GB of VRAM — a deliberately unconventional combination that rewards with an open platform and strong rasterisation performance. Seasonic SFX power supply, Alpenfoehn cooler, gold accent screws throughout. WOOD found a buyer quickly. For those interested, the CAD files are available — or the case can be ordered as a flat-pack kit.

Micro is Mario's first completely self-designed case — from the first CAD sketch to the finished print. The goal was uncompromising: as small as physically possible, no dedicated GPU, but real performance thanks to the AMD Ryzen 7 8700G and its integrated Radeon graphics. Every component mounting point was designed from scratch. Printed in PETG with carbon fill — lightweight, rigid, matte black, with a surface texture no off-the-shelf case can replicate. The front panel is the centrepiece: solid anodised aluminium in vivid gold, with a flush USB-C cutout and a matching round power button. Gold on black, metal on plastic — a deliberate contrast. Inside, two 40mm Noctua fans manage airflow in a space most cases wouldn't even attempt. A Pico-ATX adapter connects to an external power brick, reclaiming precious internal volume. The result fits in one hand and runs quietly. Micro proves that the most interesting builds aren't the biggest ones.

colinreay.org SC-09 · laser-cut in-house (Bystronic industrial laser) · ground & anodised by ABU AG Metallveredelung · solid aluminium · Ryzen 7 5700X · RTX 3050 LP · 64GB DDR4 · 3D-printed GPU bracket
Most people buy a case. Mario cut his own. The starting point was the SC-09 CAD files from colinreay.org — an open-source design built for makers. While others might have used steel sheet or 3D-printed panels, Mario had an unusual advantage at the time: he was working at Bystronic, one of the world's leading manufacturers of industrial laser cutting machines. The case panels were cut directly on an industrial laser — from solid aluminium. After cutting, each piece was professionally ground and anodised to achieve a clean, uniform finish. The result is a chassis with wall thickness and surface quality that no consumer product in this price range comes close to. On the components side, the budget was kept deliberate. The AM4 platform with the Ryzen 7 5700X delivers solid performance without paying the premium of a newer socket. A Gainward RTX 3050 in low-profile format handles lighter gaming and graphics tasks. 64 GB DDR4, a Crucial NVMe — everything a capable workshop machine needs. Laser found a new home quickly. Some builds are too good to stick around.

Lazer3D HT5 · Ryzen 7 9700X · RTX 5060 low profile 8GB · HDPLEX 500W GaN · 3D-printed PSU adapter & cover · custom aluminium feet · ADATA XPG 48GB DDR5 · sold for AI/LLM workloads
Kōboku (荒木) is Japanese for «raw wood» — something natural, compact, and full of potential. The build started when Mario discovered the Lazer3D HT5 on Devyn Johnston's YouTube channel: an ultra-compact chassis that demanded to be ordered immediately, together with the first set of parts. A stroke of luck: NVIDIA had just released the RTX 5060 in a low-profile version — a perfect fit. The included 250W PSU was too limiting, so it was upgraded to a 500W GaN unit. Slightly too long for the case — so the 3D printer stepped in once more: a custom C13 socket mount and a PSU cover were designed and printed from scratch. A subtle ARGB LED strip adds just the right amount of light, and handcrafted aluminium feet give the case its final distinctive touch. Kōboku found a new home quickly — now running AI and LLM workloads. Whether a low-profile GPU is ideal for that purpose remains an open question. 😉

COOJ Z18 unibody aluminium + glass · Ryzen 9 9900X · RTX 5080 FE · NZXT Kraken Elite 240 AIO · 64GB DDR5 · Corsair SF1000 · top-tier compact powerhouse
Some things take time. I discovered the COOJ Z18 early and ordered immediately – then waited months. A case in a different category: silver aluminium unibody, slim profile, that diagonal ventilation pattern on the side. It was clear this wouldn't be an ordinary build.
When it finally arrived, it became my new main PC – and stayed that way for a long time. Equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, 64 GB DDR5 RAM, an NZXT Kraken AiO with LCD display and a GeForce RTX, Mercury Vault was a true powerhouse. Not a build to sell. One to keep.
For the first time, I went Nvidia instead of AMD for the GPU – not out of conviction, but curiosity. And the Kraken AiO's LCD display? A small touch with a big impact: CPU temperature live inside the case, framed in white light. Clean. Effective.
Eventually came the thought that always catches up with me: I need something new. Mercury Vault was listed for sale. But it found no buyer at the right price. So it was disassembled – parts moved into new projects, components got a new life.
The case still stands here. Empty. Waiting. The COOJ Z18 is too beautiful to be forgotten. Perhaps someday it will house someone else's computer – someone who truly appreciates it.

Building is so much fun that I immediately moved on to the next project. But this time I wanted something different: a PC I'd actually keep. My daily work machine. Something close to perfect.
The concept was clear from the start: black. Red. Small. Silent. Cold.
The NCASE T1 is a true boutique case – a singular piece in the Mini-ITX world. Uncompromisingly compact, produced in limited runs, with a precision you can feel in your hands. The perfect foundation for Onyx.
But a premium case alone wasn't enough. The red accents had to be everywhere – subtle, but consistent. So I hand-sleeved the cables in red, replaced standard screws with anodised red alternatives, and dialled the RGB to match. No strobing. No chaos. Just a calm, confident aesthetic.
Onyx performed flawlessly. Despite the glass side panel – often seen as a thermal compromise – it ran whisper-quiet and stayed impressively cool. For weeks it was my daily companion through presentations, reports and long working sessions.
And then came the moment I've come to know well: hands get restless, the mind starts planning the next project. So Onyx eventually found its way to Philipp in Rorschach. Better that someone new enjoys it – and I get to build again.
Building brings more joy than using. That's my most honest self-insight.

After LARS, the direction was set: smaller, more compact. Hours of YouTube research led me to the NCASE M2 – Grater Edition. The brushed aluminium surface, the precisely punched ventilation pattern, the near-surgical compactness – this wasn't a mass-market case. It was a statement piece.
But one thing bothered me from the start: the stock feet. Too generic. Too forgettable. Not worthy of a chassis with this much personality.
A 3D printer had recently arrived in my home – another passion I fell into almost by accident. So I sat down, learned CAD from scratch, and designed my own feet. Fitting. Precise. Mine.
Space management inside was, as always in SFF builds, the biggest challenge. And then came the cable question. Standard sleeving materials didn't meet my standards – so I started hand-sleeving and crafting cables myself. A true labour of Sisyphus: pulling thin sleeves over thin wires, controlling every millimetre, routing everything with surgical precision. But the result was worth every hour. A build where everything – truly everything – was made by hand.
Nebula Core was the first project where I didn't just build – I created.

Cooler Master NR200P MAX V2 · Ryzen 9 7900X3D · RX 7800 XT 16GB · Thermal Grizzly KryoSheet · sold to Lars (who gave it its name) · first MAROIS build
It all started differently than planned. After a prolonged illness, I wanted to do something active again – get back into gaming. So I built a PC. My very first one. LARS.
What I didn't expect: the gaming itself barely kept my interest. But the moment the last screw was in place, every cable tucked away, and the first boot screen lit up – that felt different. Complete. Deeply satisfying.
I was hooked immediately. Started researching, comparing, optimising. And then came the thought that changed everything: Surely this can be smaller, more compact, more beautiful.
LARS was barely finished before parts for the next build were already on the table. In the end, I sold him to my colleague Lars Stalder – unfortunately at a noticeable loss. But someone got a great machine, and I had found my passion: Mini-ITX.
LARS isn't just a PC. LARS is the beginning of everything that followed.
